Folkestone’s unofficial guide to what’s going on.
Join a free, 1.2-mile remembrance parade through Folkestone. Assemble outside The Grand at 17:45; the parade leaves at 18:00. Approximate stops are poetry and wartime letter readings at the Leas Bandstand at 18:20, the Last Post at Step Short Remembrance Arch from 18:50, arrival at the Town Hall at 19:15, and music and reflection at the Parish Church of St Mary & St Eanswythe at 19:20. Everyone is welcome to join anywhere along the route. Lanterns are available for the first 150 participants, or bring a battery-operated lantern. The route is mostly flat, with uneven churchyard paving and a slight incline on the return. Wartime readings may need explanation for children; dress for the weather.
