The Folkestone and District Family History Society holds its AGM, followed by vice chair Mark Hourahane’s talk on scandals, criminal cases and comic stories found in local newspapers. He will explore what the reports reveal about changing attitudes and their reliability for family history research. Doors open at 19:00, with refreshments before the 19:30 meeting. Admission is £2 cash only, or free for members. Non-members may attend but cannot vote unless they join before the AGM; membership starts at £15 per year. Parking is available on nearby streets or at the free Broomfield Road car park.
